Whats the widest tires we can put on our stock rims?

Theres probably a thread up about this already, sorry , but im lowering my evo x on eibachs and spraying my stock wheels black. I have a gsr and my stock tires are going bald, so i want to get some new tires. Whats the best size to get and does anyone have a brand they would like to recommend. I want to run 265, but i don't know if it will work. Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't recommend it. On 8.5" you can go with 235, 245 (recommended), and 255.

I personally think a 265 in a skinnier tire will fit... People are putting 265s onto 8.5s all over the place (subarus, bmws etc.).
