The Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60's are the only winter tires that came up with 275/35/18 measurements. $1000 for the set.
What are the OEM tire measurements?

bottom line is that stock tires on evo during winter, You can walk faster than the car in snow just a lil heads up, i am using 10 wide with snow tires and it felt like i have more grip than anything. i know they are wide and causes more chances of hydroplaning but it just depends on tirees your using

Will my Volks be damaged from the salt on the roads? If Volks peel and crap after using a strong detergent then salt probably messes them up

definitely the most cost effective way to approach this issue. I do the same  . I have Michelin PA3 on the stock rims and stock size. Got the RE11s on the summer set (AME TM02 with 265 35 18).

the wheels dont effect anything its the tires....stock tires and snow you will die. tire wise i sell TONS of wheels/tires and i would recommend 245 40 18s or even 255 40 18s in a blizzak or nokian you can use that tire on a stock evo x wheel or a big boy aftermarket it will be fine. even a 225 or 235 40 18 would work sweet on the stock X wheels. go skinny as possible in the snow tires....pretty much the only time wider isn't better for tires hah
