Thanks for the review. I think these are about the same if not cheaper than the Z1 star specs. Definetly a new option.

A couple of observations: This tire is in direct competition to the Dunlop Star spec. Black track tested the NT 05 and was very impressed relative to the Neovo. However, it is unclear how the NT 05 compares to the Star spec, the previous "rage" in high performance summer tire.
Well, I found this : http://www.trackhq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1940 comparo in a S2000 which seemed to prefer the NT 05 despite the marginally slower track time (but see caveats therein).
Now one feature of the NT 05 (and all the other tires for that matter) that is difficult to assess is tread design. That said, I do notice that the sipes in the NT 05 have minimal connection to central channels. The Neovo, by contrast, has large sipes extending into the central channels of the tire. To me, this may suggest the Neovo are better in the wet and Black track has confirmed that the Neovo do perform well under these conditions. Since it appears that he did not test the NT 05 in the wet, their performance in same is really unknown. In short, the NT 05 look very good in the dry. However, they may not be so under wet conditions. We look forward to testing these tires under wet conditions.
Later, Ken

UPDATE!
I just rotated my tires after 3500 miles and they still look great. So far the treadwear looks very good for the compound. I'm very hard on tires and am happy to see the tires wearign slower than previous tires I've used.
The more I drive these tires, the more I like them. I said it before, but these tires are very smooth and predictable. Easy to drive. Considering the price, these are the best high performance street tire I've used.
I'll post up some pictures soon.

Another update:
I have put well over 10,000 miles on the NT05's now and am suprised how much life is left on these tires. They still grip great and are not wearing fast like the stock Advans. Very happy overall.

Good to hear, that makes these an excellent option for DD as well.

I got around 11k miles on mine. They saw a couple track days and a couple autocross days (where they had 16+ runs each day on them). One was corded on the inside edge (camber wear).
