Help
I got the splash guards. How do remove the push in pins on the inner fenders without breaking them?
Also, where do you get the screw in kind? I tried Lowes, but it wasn't an exact match.
Thanks.
Also, an shot of where you had to cut the fronts to clear the tire? Did you do the rears also?

1. A flat head screw driver should pop the pins right out....very easy
2. Lowes does have them and they dont have to be a exact match, just the same diameter so that they slide in. The longer the better.
3. I dont have pick of that, but i cut a little less than half of them off to clear the tire. Just eyeball it and use your judgement. Also hold them in and have someone turn the wheels back and forth will help give you a ideo on how much to take off.
4. I did not do the back since I have not had any chipping problems back there.

There's a link to it on the last page of the damaged paint thread. X General was overrun with stickies. Here, I'll stick it in Show and Shine.

Man, apparently I dropped one of my homemade flaps on the interstate this past weekend.
Time to go back to Advance and get the blowtorch of plastic melting love out again.

I wanted to post and say that I now have almost 7000 miles on my car. I went cross country the first 2500 without mud flaps. Right after that, I added them. I am using the Scottatyamaha homemade Advance $4 mudflaps.
I'm here to report they are awesome! I lost one a couple of weeks ago, and the amount of junk that the wheels kicked up on that side during the three days I only had one was pretty convincing, so I went out and bought another set.
This is a very minimal investment of money and work to protect your car! Look into it if you have not already!

Just did this last night, while the bottom snaps were a PITA, eventually I got it. Gotta say thanks to scottatayamaha. I refused to spend $200 for OEM mudflaps (come on, they're 4 little pieces of flat rubber!) and got tired of waiting for RallyArmor to release their flaps. In the end I like these best since I only wanted front flaps for protection and these are much more subtle than the other options out there, plus they cost a whopping $5.94 (cost me more in gas to get to the Advance Auto in my area). I'm just pissed I waited until I had 2K miles on my car before I put them on, already have tons of minor damage...
On another good note, I picked up some OEM touch up paint from the dealer and I have to admit it works really well. They use the pen/stick type (which I was weary of) but the paint is nice and thin and allows you to fill a scratch and wipe off the excess leaving a near perfect touch up.
