Rexpeed vortex gen evo x question
I've literally tried installing this thing 5 times and I even had it replaced. So right now I have a brand new vg sitting in the garage pretaped from Rexpeed. The problem I'm having, which I'm sure multiple Rexpeed vg owners are having, is that the corner just decides to not stick and hangs up. My roof is all scratched up from removing it multiple times but at this point I want to just get the damn thing installed and leave it there. Should it try adding some gorilla glue? I was going to also get a lot of rocks and put them on the sides to add some weight. Any help is seriously appreciated and I thank you in advance. Thanks

I purchased my own sticky tape(better quality) and put it all over the vortex, every single spot, igored the directions. Will it be a PITA to pull it off ever? yes! Does it sit flush? yes!

^ get 3m double sided tape, store it indoors overnight with a couple 10 pound weights on each side.
Ive done this with both rexpeed VGs on my X and it has worked both times.
Good luck!

My Rexs speed didnt come with the double side tape but even if it did I wouldnt have used it. I used the 3m double side tape that is red. I put it every where except on the holes and the two bumps and sits flush and I have tried to pull it off and it wont budge. hth

i got the same one from rexpeed. had the same problem. what i did was put a few layers of 3m tape on top of each other on the side that was giving me problems. more than likely the same side, which is the driver side.
the mold from the rexpeed vg unfortunately on one side is not even as it is on the other, so it's causing it to have no contact with the roof and vg.
hope that helps.

dude, that looks pretty good. To get certain Rexpeed items to fit properly, it literally drives you insane! just enjoy the cash savings compared to the OEM or higher end parts and call it a day :P You should see my fender vents
