Installing DG Motors EVO 9 Converted Master Cylinder/pedal
Holy crap this install is a pain! Be prepared to have very very sore hands and scratches on your arms. Some tips for install. I made a stainless line from the MC all the way to the slave. It is standard 10mm banjo on both ends. 48 inches long. I would recommend a new banjo bolt on the slave side or you can do what I did which is to use washers as the factory banjo is much thicker and the factory bolt won't seat all the way otherwise. Now removing slave isn't the rough part, it's the clutch pedal which is the hard part. To install you will need to unbolt the fusebox, it will make removing the old one much easier and you'll never get new one in without doing so. It is only 3 10mm bolts. You also have to unbolt and remove the AYC ECY it is tiny and just in front of the fusebox by the pedal. It is only 1 10mm bolt that holds the bracket on. Now you should be able to access the 6 nuts hoding the pedal on BUT there are 2 plugs but also 3 clips holding 3 harnesses. I couldn't get one off so I simply cut the electrical tape holding it onto clip and called it a day. On the other side there is one clip the hold the line on and then a circlip which then allows you to disconnect the hose portion of the line from the metal piece that goes to slave. You simply pull off clip and pull hose off. Take a second. You should now be able to pull off pedal out. If you want you can pop off the master from the pedal and pull out the engine bay I believe. I didn't do it this way since didn't know you could do that. Now comes the tricky installation part! You have to cut quite a bit of firewall. Now don't forget you not only need to trim it to fit the master (which is oval and not round like the stock piece) but also a bit more on the driver side of the hole since you need to feed that master through there and the nipple for the feed needs some room to clear the hole. Now squeezing that new pedal and master through there is a BIATCH! I couldn't do it with the new feed line and banjo on it unfortunately but I recommend you do. I also recommend you remove hose and install on the master BEFORE you install. Getting that hose on the barb when in the car is also NOT fun. I installed banjo and line once in the car but it's tricky and too easy to lose the washers. I hope this helps people with the install. The pedal feels great with short travel between on and off. So far so good. Only drawback is a bit of dead travel when you just press on it initially but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I think maybe due to the joint installed on it? I am very glad I did it after seeing the factory plastic POS. No wonder they break. Overall took my friend and I many hours to install. WAY longer than we thought initially. Plan ahead on this one.

I'll let someone else take the pics. I was busy working and don't have a camera.

Thanks for the write up Dan! Now you understand why we charge what we charge. This by far is the most annoying install on evo x but will save you $$$ over time due to not breaking a master cyl.

They have been great. Got me the pedal exactly when they said they would. I think they are just WAY too busy at the shop. It's tough to have a shop AND do online sales but glad they have been contributing to the community with this great mod. I will send all EVO X people their way for this. Oh and Pete sending back the OEM pedal today for ya! Should have Thursday. May have to order another one for a friend soon.
