Those who have removed the OEM high spoiler...
Just wanted to hear some tips on how-to remove the oem high wing.
How many bolts are there on each side? Are there two bolts from the bottom and one bot on top of the trunk under the base cover? I read there`s also a fourth hole, is that the plastic snap-on bolt? Is there any double-sided tape or gasket in between?
Any pre-cautions would be appreciated. Even better with pictures or step-by-step guidance!

I took off the non-SSS wing, so I can't speak from experience.
However, as a precaution based on my low wing:
If there is adhesive on the base of the wing, TAKE YOUR TIME heating it and slowly getting it off. My roommate got a little impatient and the end result is an imperfect trunk. Pisses me off every time I see it.
Let me know if you're giving your SSS wing away for free to a fellow Canadian with a messed up trunk

There is no adhesive, and it takes about 5 minutes. Be gentle with the plastic inserts if you ever plan to use them again. I didn't. Just lift it off carefully so you don't scratch the paint on your deck lid. Cover the holes with vinyl and cash in. It takes a nice big chunk out of a month's car payment too.
No spoiler FTW!

I removed mine awhile back, still looking to sell it.
There seems to be some inconsistency from car to car, as mine did have the adhesive tape/foam under it, along with the bolts. As mentioned, take your time to heat up this adhesive really well if you do have it. I end up with some paint imperfections as well due to impatience. (I'll be replacing it with a new OEM non-wing trunk some day though, so oh well.)
Anyone want a A/S SSS wing?
-Ben

It's really easy to do, I took mine off in about 10 minutes with a 10mm socket, extension, ratchet, Goo Gone and fishing line.
I really like being able to see out the back window now.
This is what I put in its place:

yeah, they don't make them for the X... at least I haven't seen it on their site. Either way. Mitsubishi has a lip spoiler I might consider.

Sigh, wouldn't mind at all if we had something like that for the X in body color then I might consider doing it to mine.
