Interior Rattle

Anybody care to write up a "How to get rid of Interior rattle" ?

I've got about 5 rattles now all coming from the dash area. I know I'm not alone, and I hope there is a way to fix it. All ideas welcome.

Some where there is a (how to) to take the front panels out to do the nav system this should get you started . Mine rattles at the face plate of the radio ,I took care of the glove box by adding 2 (vinyl pad bumpers Clear 5/16 diameter ) From Ace hardware to the glove box where it contacts the rubber grommets tightens it right- up worked great .

Also get under the car and check your rocker panel inserts ,they emmit a load of rattles loosen the screws and insert some porous foam ( to let moisture out ) to tighten them -up also .

Forgive me for being the newb and not owning an X, but I thought I'd share this... I got my instrument cluster bezel replaced under warranty because it rattled, but there are still others.
Most noticeably on bumpy roads. It's just bound to happen with our cars. Mitsu cut costs when it came to vibration and sound dampening, but they are realizing their mistakes now, as evident in the new soundproof windsheild glass for the 2010 models.

after a few more weeks of driving around, I've noticed a pattern. When it's really hot outside, it's fine. Colder days, it's down right annoying. It kinda sounds like maybe some of the tape under the dash that holds wires? It's pretty suck-tastic.

I had 2 dash rattles that were pretty darned annoying but seem to be pretty common. I've fixed the ones on my car with minimal effort. Granted my car is stock
so no loud exhaust, motor mount or lowered suspension causes.

1. "Windshield" rattle. In the middle of the dash next to the windshield there is a small rectangular "box". This was real loose, enough to send a rattle noise echoing against the glass. I just put a small piece of tape on it and that sound is gone.

2. "Instrument Cluster" rattle. Mine was not anything to do with the cluster but sure sounded like it. The housing for the steering wheel shaft was the culprit. I wedged a piece of insulation between the housing and where it meets the under side of the dash. Problem solved.

Hope this helps.
