How To: 5-Speed Transmission & Transfer Case Fluid Change
#2
Thanks for posting this! Do you have an alternative for the transfer case bleeding for those of us without a Mitsu scan tool? I've heard that turning the car on with the gas pedal floored will bleed it, but some people say that doesn't work for them. Any suggestions?

What exactly is being bled?
If you need to bleed the fluids in the tranny or transfer case, why doesnt it say to do it during the oil change steps?
Please advise on this anyone. I dont want to destroy my car.

Ok.
I took my Evo X in to the dealership to get the system bled. The service department at first said that you need to bleed the system everytime you change the oil in the tranny or transfer case. I said ok, and brought it in to have it bled.
The service guy calls me a few hours later, and said he talked to Mitsubishi, and that they said it is a seperate system, and that you do not need to bleed it when you change the tranny and transfer fluids.

Thanks so much Russel!
I was thinking of changing my tranny fluid soon and was curious if I can do this on ramps? Will the incline from the ramps make the fluid drain out properly?
thanks!
