I like Robi's idea of coilovers. Good way to save a good amount of weight. Plus some of it will be unsprung weight which is more beneficial.
BTW does anybody have a link to Buschur's thread about how much extra horsepower he made on the dyno with lighter wheels and brakes?

I guess the top of the list would be Exhaust, Midpipe, Small Battery, "Coulovers", and lighter wheels! I think we could get the car down to 3000ish? Without making it a racecar interior...

You might get down to 3000 if you really tried hard, but it would be a challenge me thinks. From what Road and Track says the X weighs 3345 for the GSR so you would have to loose 300 or so lbs. We have already found a reasonable 200lbs but the next 100 could get harder. I do not know what the front and rear braces weigh on the X, but that could be 50-60lbs. From there you could look at different seats, but we are starting to get a bit radical in my opinion. Any other suggestions?

I wouldn't change anything that going to compromise my safety. Unless you were making a stricht track car. Then it'd be fine because you're most likely going to cage it and all that. I would do the before mentioned things, battery, wheels, etc. That'll be enough weight-loss for me.

How much is the X RS supposed to weigh? I think it would be good to be as light or maybe a tad bit lighter than the RS without taking out the AYC and such of course. Is it possible? (No race interior though!)
