I also get the safe driving discount, but that is applied to my rate because I haven't filed any claims or gotten any tickets. I can’t select the option for safe driving, it's up to USAA to decide if I'm a safe driver and apply that discount.
The point he was trying to convey is that it's uber-lame to call your insurance and say "Oh, BTW please rape me a little more than you already are because I disabled my DRL's".

I mean at that rate why not just tell them " Oh, I also tend to drive over the speed limit and I occasionally drive fairly irresponsibly when the opportunity presents itself. I also have a car capable of sub 5 second 0-60 times and much more performance than is really ever needed for the street. Now I know I haven't had any claims but you might just want to go ahead and assign me as high risk.

I know you're trying to be all honest and PC but, I think most of us are just being realistic.

Why , you dont have OEM tires after 10,000 miles , you want have OEM wipers after 2 years. why do they care if your DRLs work or not. or if you radio quit or your power windows quit . should I take my window tint off as well before i go to the dealer, oh yeah remember to swap out those sweet aftermarke rims too..

DRL draw more attention I dont need every DPS going ' look here comes a car thats more obvious than 99% of all the other cars check it out.

Because it's an Evo and driving it voids the warranty.

So, does looking at it from certain directions.

sure , they are similar in power but you would have to splice into the factory harness. i havent traced the wiring yet but this was an option I thought of as well. since with the fuse removed you dont have any true ( driving lights) just fogs. does look cool in the dusk hour.

Warranty has a lot to do with your specific DEALER. I took my X into my dealer for the re-flash with a aftermarket CAI installed, and they didnt even say one word about it. In fact, they gave me a free oil change and car wash due to the inconvenience of me having to come in for the re-flash.

why would you want to disable them it's been proven time and time again that they help with accidents during the daytime!

there is not time and time again proof it decreases accidents. if you have studies let me know. if headlight helped that much then why are more accidents at night . we all have our headlights on. it does draw some attention and with police looking for sports cars I dont need more attention than the next driver.

just for the sure fact that some peoples eyes at night can't determine the distance of some cars. Your eyes sometimes plays tricks on you. Plus it's not just the fact that people have lights on then more or less it being a factor of falling asleep or being drunk etc... If you're that worried about the cops seeing you then you have got to slow it down a little. I know how the Texas highways are and everything but speed can kill! Also you don't own a sports car you own a 4 door Saloon

I guess I am bored so I will answer this. Lets see, Airbags nice safety feature . except sometimes it will kill you. proven fact. this is why they let you turn it off. I think the same thing with DRL. it should have a switch so I can decide when the best time to have them on . thats simple. now lets go and play.

they do have a switch on other cars...its called your headlight swtich!

they wouldn't count it as a safety feature if it wasn't proven to reduce accidents.
