it has 8800 miles on it... bluecolor and its a gsr/sss.. they are askin $25k
looks great just the normal sratches.. but some concerns !!
HELP !!
the oil was dirty...
ALL four stock tires where bald !! not kidding eather.. ( **** driven out of it ) ???
the clutch didnt engage till the very top of travel..
it was hard to get into 1st gear while at light and notchy / slight grindy feeling between shifts..
does the drive trane whine at low speed ?? i have never driven a evo before so i dont know..
it was twitchy feeling changing lanes.
lopey idle and ran out of steam at about 5500-rpm..
now the part that makes me scared.....
the car fax says unibody/frame damage.. it was hit on the drivers rear panel..
i looked and the underneathe looks good and the body looks good.. but the dealer say the rear quarter may have been replaced.. they dont know..
i want a evo soo bad !! but my gut feeling is saying no on this one..
i cant really get a new one but can get into this one. for my budget.. help guys !!

just go to www.cars.com and find one you want. What i did was change the search radius to 500 miles, and drove down to Salt Lake City and traded in my Range Rover and drove the EVO back. I saved thousands of dollars and only had to drive about 4 hours to get there.

The symptoms are pretty normal for an untuned 2008. My tires lasted 'till 11k, but the only bad thing is that you know that it was hit...maybe for $19k-$20k. the rest of it sounds fairly X-ish.

those tires don't look that bald...you can still see tread block in the autotrader pics (the middle wears out fast- the line is the 1/2 way mark.
oil gets dirty fast- in like 2 days, especially if it has the original tune-there is a factory reflash out for '08's.
the trans is notchy on showroom new ones until the oil gets real warm (1/2 drive or track use)
the alignment has quick turn in so it should be twitchy
it only has 7800 miles - so even better
not too sure about the clutch- but they do engage a little high- definitely a bargaining point.

Keep looking, if tires were bold and everything else was fine i would go for it, but otherwise - walk away... find what you like, take your time. do not buy beat up evo
