The evo has taken over my life, I can't stand a day without it..
So long story short...my car is being mostly repainted on the dealers wallet because they agreed before I bought it to take care of a large number of scratches on the car. This was an 08 sitting on the lot since it got there I believe, so it had a lot of small scratches on it. On top of that, I am pretty sure their detailer had a rock or something on his buffer when he detailed the car (way to many scratches matching the same swirl like pattern on hard to get places).
Anyways, I dropped the car off this monday and will probably get it back friday. But even this short time away has me freaking out...everytime I feel like just going for a drive I open my garage door to find this ugly 08 gallant sitting in there Although I did notice I am saving a bit of money now that I am not taking senseless trips to best buy just to get drives in. Can't ever seem to walk out without getting something.
Can't wait to get the evo back. Have my ams intake waiting to go in, and many other things I want to get done with it!
Has ANYONE ever purchased a Gallant? I just want to know why in god's name you would buy such an uncomfortable car.

At least you got a Galant; I got freaking Dodge Caliber for 5 days while my X is in the shop. I open the door to my garage in the morning and get reminded of how much I look like a damn soccer mom.

They gave me a galant. I was backing out of a spot got the rear end clipped. messed up the rear bumper and cracked tail light. I popped it out and buffed it and used some epoxy to piece the lens back together. I got lucky and got away with one. I didn't mind driving the galant however i really think it is hideous to look at. Dont know y mitsu cant make a nice sedan other than the lancer lineup

Well, for one, I miss the power of the evo. Way too much fun driving.
The interior of this car is just hideous. The steering wheel is way too massive. Like you said, its an ugly ass car.
If this was meant to compete with the camry, they failed hard. I thought the dealer told me in 07 the gallant was being canned. I guess that wasnt true.

I used to have a 2002 Galant GTZ and I loved that car. Of course I used it as a trade in for the Evo. I completely understand though about not having your car while it is in the shop. Mine was in the body shop for three weeks and I was driving around in a Chevy Malibu during that timeframe. Every time I would see another Evo or Subie driving around it would pain me.

Galants don't look bad, not to mention their super reliable! Sure it's no EVO but it's a fair car, I would love to see a stock Galant VR4 go against your X, you'd be surprised how fast those cars were for their time! The Ralliart Galant also posts decent 0-60 numbers, I believe it's either 5.8 or 6.0 second?

A car that gets to 0-60 in 4 seconds still sucks if its ugly as all hell and has a 1980s interior. I felt like I was driving a beat up rental car from avis in barstow, california...this is a 2008 with 7000 miles on it. Just didn't expect that kind of feeling from a relatively new car.
One a side note, I got my car in and I am happy as can be. Managed to put my EVOLUTION X lettering across the trunk and get my AMS intake in. Oh, and got my visor overlays from shiroboi in! He says hes doing his last orders, so check out his work if you havent!

I just test drove an EVO X MR yesterday, and now I can't stand my MKIV R32....
...okay, well maybe a bit of an exaggeration. The R is still great, but damn that EVO X was in a whole other league. I sooooooooo want!!!
