Hood dampers

I am in between Rexpeed and Mayne. Mayne's account on here is disabled, so I am wondering?

What are peoples experiences down the road? I read the other two threads, but no long term experiences.

Do both need to have tape under the bracket to keep it from spinning?

Mynes said to install double sided tape under the hood bracket, so that it will grab and I assume not spin.

if you look at rexpeed's mounting brackets, you'll see that they butt up right against other components which will prevent it from spinning.

I have Rexpeed dampers and they don't require any tape. I think the Chargespeed ones have a better bracket design though because it bolts on from two places, effectively preventing rotation on the brackets. The Rexpeed bracket braces itself against a perpendicular surface which works too, but not as well. The downside of Chargespeed is that it's pretty expensive

I meant to say Colt Speed, not Chargespeed. Too many "___Speed"s

I just installed a set of Rexspeed dampers and they fit quite nicely. They are almost too strong in my opinion, they could handle having a little less charge in the struts.

By looking at the pics of the Mynes, they appear to be the same as Rexspeed just not carbon fiber appearance. It doesn't appear that Mynes sells Evo parts anymore anyway.

lol yea, if you let go of the hood once it passes the point where it can lift, it pretty much launches the hood to the sky
