Water in the Front Passenger Floor board

Ok this is so frustrating, after a good little amount of rain in the past days i went out to my car and it was smelling pretty MOLDY, well low and behold my paassenger floorboard is WET. I pulled out the glove box and tried to find where it was coming from i got a good idea but i cant pinpoint where it is from. There is an ecu behind the glove box and the in cabin air filter, if you look behind the ecu i can tell the water is coming from behind and to the left of the ecu but higher up. Wasn't really able to find the source. If anyone has had the same problem please let me know where it is coming from. thanks

Dang...sorry to hear that bro. I would hate for that to happen to my X. My mom had this same problem with her 2000 Dodge caravan when leaves would get clogged in the drains at the bottom of the windshield took us forever to figure out what was causing it.

grab a buddy, and a garden hose. pull back the carpet and glove box. try to expose as much as possiable. then with one person in the car, the other one runs the water across the windshield, door seals, fender, ect. to see where the water is comming in at. if there is a leak, you may be able to trace it back to where the water is entering the cabin. also, has the glass or anyhting else been removed or replaced? has the vehicle been hit? these can lead you in the right direction.

i thought about trying that the only thing is that i would have to do it with a glass of water at a time. I live in germany and there isnt a hose at my apt. I bought the car used so I dont know if it was wrecked or not, if it was it not on carfax. Oh well i think i will just end up dropping it off at the dealership over here for them to figure it out.

are any gauge wires or electrical wires ran through that area ? if there are any ran through that area they probably bypassed a gasket either by going through it or runnig it along sides it making the gasket not 100% sealed.

This may be your issue, i was having my trunk FULL of water everytime it rained, i almost took it to the dealer (glad i didnt) i first thought it was my vortex generator when i decided to try to fix it it turned out it was when i ran my lazer shifter wire from the rear bumper into the trunk, i went alongside a gasket and didnt put it back right. good luck.

by all means, if it's under warranty, take it to them. but, the more info you can give them, the more likely they are to find it.

A guy at work had the same problem with his new Nissan pickup truck. After numerous visits it ended up being the windshield. They first replaced the moulding but didn't stop until replacing the entire windshield.

Check all grommets on the firewall on the passenger side. Chances are that is where it is coming in from. Also check the weather strip on the passenger door. Pull off the weather strip, and look for moisture on the body.
