i totally agree with you. i WANT to buy an RS but they don't sell them here in the USA for some reason...

So, yes, I may not have liked the standard of living out there, but the quality of cars were VERY noticeable.

As far as I'm concerned, with all the "problems" arising with the transmission, paint, and overall build quality of the X's, you'd think they would address those before adding more electronic luxuries... and more weight. i for one enjoy my X, but I can see how this is going to turn out...

Remember when the Skylines were raw, semi-affordable serious tuner cars? And when it finally comes to the states, its a rich man's supercar?? WTF?!
They know that only the rich are spending money in this recession, so that's who they'll tailor their mods to. My .02...
Well, if you convert pounds and dollars both back to yen, they are paying thousands more for their Evos in the UK than we are, so they are more profitable over there for Mitsubishi. Of course their cars are better, they have a market over there for them. Could you see our Evos getting UK quailty equipment, but the MSRP jumping 10k+ overnight? They wouldn't sell any.

Is the evo XI going to end up being the new 3000gt No actually I was maybe a little harsh in my last post, if Mitsu wants to add a bunch of luxury items to the high end MR model then more power to them, I just hope they don't pass on the price increases to the GSR.

mitsu is retarded. the MR is supposed to be the Mitsubishi RACING edition. not the Fat Lazy American edition. everything else in mitsu's lineup sucks ass, so instead of improving the crappy models aimed at the general public, they're going to ruin the EVO and try to make it appeal to people that never would have, and still won't own one now. and in the process, they're pissing off all the people that loved the car in the first place.

it's not that i'm against luxury and technology, but if you're going to add all that crap, you better give it enough power to haul around all the fat. it's a performance car FIRST. they need to remember that. if they want to add all that crap, fine. make the car standard with 400hp. then everybody's happy. not like they couldn't do it.

Buy a canadian RS and just import it to the states!!! You can escape paying taxes here and just tell them the car will be out of canada within a month , then you just cross the border and voila you have a Evo X RS

Yes its possible, its harder to import a car from the states to canada than to import one from canada to the us. Just make sure you dont pay taxes in canada and let them know the car will not be staying there and that you will be registering it in the us. Im thinking about taking my S4 down to san antonio when i move back and just get it imported, and buy an X as a project car, i just hope mitsu comes to its senses and drops the stupid flappy paddles and goes with a 6MT!!

Pushing 40k is just a bit much for a compact sedan even with all the technology, awd and the engine. Heck the wrx is just about as fast and you can get the heated mirrors and cold weather pack for about 10k less.
Wow didnt know Evo X was in same field as WRX. Only car I can think of is STI(price/performance wise).
I think I've seen 60 year old grandma driving WRX.

One of the main problems with the MR is the transmission, the evo is meant to be a tuner car, and that transmission makes the car harder to modify.
Now I know Ferrarris,Porchses, gtr, etc. have that semi-manual/auto type of transmission, which is fine for those types of cars because you aren't replacing parts and heavily modifying them. (GTR as the exception - but it rides a fine line nicely).

Don't sell a tuner car thats hard to tune, thats day one stuff.

I agree with the technology trickling down, but weight is always an issue. Best answer is what has been suggested above, sell the RS (w/6spd manual) and if they did I guarantee you it would out sell the MR.
