i dont know but buy logic should be heavier, since 18x8.5 instead the 17x8 also the tires are 245-40-18 vs the 235-40-17
same company same tire brand.
Also the weight is further from the center of the wheel via larger diameter, so the sprung weight is more noticeable.
One of the reason why the X is, tenth's of the second's slower then a IX besides the weight...
It is compromise , between handling -power-breaking.
And one of the reson why i do run only 265's. I have no power yet.
But this is my opinion only.

I believe there is a thread here that stated the stock Evo X GSR wheels are 23pds a piece. Don't know about the tires though.

just because they are BBS , that's doesn't mean they are a lightest or the best.

mybad, y'all were talkin about the X wheel. and yeah, i agree with you. BBS sucks. forged wheels in that size shouldn't be that heavy. RE30's in 18x9 are only ~17.25lbs. my old volk SE37k's in 17x7.5 were only 14lbs and strong as hell. i bent one of those weak *** BBS wheels on a pothole. whack.

OEM wheels are manufactured to a different standard so they will always be a few pounds on the heavy side.

Speaking of wheels, I recently changed back to the stock (IX) BBS' from RP-F1s. I had the RPFs for ~4 years. They're ~2lbs lighter per corner vs the BBS'. Both sets of wheels were shod with the same Hankook Evos. In all truth, I noticed no negatives. The car actually felt better, handling-wise, which I attribute to a fresh balance. I remember not feeling much of a difference when I first installed the RPFs, at least not compared to shedding 20lbs with Baer rotors, and this just confirmed it. YMMV

I just weighed a stock Evo X BBS wheel, it was 20.8 lbs. I believe my scale is fairly accurate.

(This is the weight of the wheel alone, no TPMS, no valve stem, no balancing weights.)
