Notification to dealers that there's a newer timing chain if a replacement is ordered

There was actually a new chain already. This seems to either be the official announcement or a 3rd revision.

Correct

Think it's the official announcement since it was the only one on the generated tech list

I had my timing chain stretch and they ordered me a new chain. I inquired why it was different and they said they just changed suppliers. BS!

Here is the chain that was in my car (2008 x)

So glad that there is a new chain again, its gonna be like the relay problem. Does this mean if you have the second revision chain should we check to see and worry about upgrading to this new third revision?

From what I understand, 2011s with a build date later than feb 2011 have the new chain.
