Downpipes..Recirculate or Vent To Atmosphere?

On my last IX my 02 housing I had vent to the atmosphere (Loud, too loud). I have been researching exhausts for my X and I like both the AMS and ETS TBE systems. I am trying to decide between the AMS widemouth downpipe and the ETS split downpipe.

Is there any advantage to venting to the atmosphere?

So for maximum power you would vent to the atmosphere.

Being that it is my DD I think I am going to go for the quieter route.

Then don't hit boost. I love my VTA.

I've seen the electric cutouts to open up the entire exhaust, but I bet having one to toggle your wastegate from internal to external would be unique and you could have the best of both worlds.

Ah very cool, I'm thinking about fabbing up a pipe that I can attach to my ATP Downpipe with external wastegate. Right now it's re-routed into the downpipe but for racing it would be fun to be able to swap an external dump tube in there. I can just rotate the external wg a bit and attach the piece, then cap off the downpipe for a 5-10 min swap that gives a bit of hp and sounds really mean.

They have many mufflers for the setup, but we have never tried them. We recommend the recirculated downpipe for daily drivers that don't want to be noticed under boost. If you want to vent to atmosphere you WILL be heard at WOT.

We like to separate the wastegate gases from the turbine gases to create a smooth flowing exhaust and less turbulence.

Thanks,

Michael

Does the ETS downpipe fit RHD EVO X? (I'm looking for one and I know that the AMS widemouth doesn't.)

Michael can you chime in?

Regards.

Honestly - I'm not sure. We have sold a couple overseas but I have never received feedback, so maybe? The answer is I dunno

Thanks,

Michael
