If we like the sample then production units can take 3-4 months after that. The curve ball happens when we do not like the sample or it is not up to our standards. If we need a change or don't like how it turned out then tooling needs to be changed and a new sample needs to be made (another 1-2 months for that) You can see how the time can add up and add up QUICK! Look at our F1-I for the EVO. We we were told by several casting companies it could not be done. It took a while but it was and now its actually up for some kind of casting award....go figure.
In the end it's our standards of quality and performance that everyone has come so accustomed to that we simply cannot compromise on. You paid good money for your car and good money for your parts. We want to give you something that we can stand behind and that you can come to enjoy worry free for years to come. We do apologize for the wait but we can promise that the end product is more than worth it. With every sample and or change we get close to what we consider perfection and now we are just about 100% of the way there.

Which is why I have no problem waiting. This philosophy is why AMS continues to be a leader in High performance Aftermarket automotive accessories.
I would rather have something that is well tested and designed (as close to flaw free), then a half arse thrown together piece that will either have fitment issues, or even worse damage my $40K+ car all so that we the consumer could get the particular piece a few months earlier...
Patience is a virtue, not many of us have.
Keep Us Updated!

Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't start the thread with the intention to cause ruckus, I was just wondering what happened. Mr Gates has assuaged any curiosity I may have had about going over to the Blouch...I've seen how he drives that thing in videos...my car won't be doing any of that... any times soon. Thanks Eric for chiming in!! I guess it's best to hold out for the AMS kit, because if I did have any issue I could just take a drive to West Chicago...versus calling and leaving messages if any thing should happen with the Blouch Dom. My Birthday is in March..so...I guess this will be my birthday present...TO ME!!! Thanks again ALL!!

Hey Hiboost,
down to an estimated 140 hp. outch that sucks. funny you changed your sig. LMFAO
I know you will get her back up and running.

It's just sad how slow the car is without any significant boost, figured someone would catch the change in my signature sooner or later. :P
Eric, thanks for the response to my questions, I can see how it can add up quickly if the casting isn't coming out to your standards the first time around. I'm at a crossroads with my car and if you guys had everything ready I would have bought an AMS turbo kit and repaired/sold the old combo so I could get my poor Evo X back to reliable power. If I don't get it fixed soon my friends are going to start calling me Lowboost...

Buschur made a great kit from the stock manifold for the 8 & 9 , I'm surprized no one has done this , I dont think the stock manifold is too bad.

Actually the stock exhaust manifold is a so so design. The exhaust pulses face each other 180* and then aim down towards the twin scroll entry of the turbo. How much this hurts is uncertain but Steedspeed has a post on the "other" evo x forums where they machined a manifold with an integrated external WG that has all 4 runners seperated until it dumps into the turbo housing. Hopefully we'll get some solid dyno before and after numbers from those that upgrade to that piece but likely it will have decent gains throughout the rpm range.
Tubular manifolds can be really good but they usually focus on top end flow with moderate gains in the mid range and hope to break even at lower RPM's. Of course those traits can be tuned with runner length and cross section but that's just in general.

I can tell you our exhaust and IC will work just fine with our turbo kit. CAI I am not sure of but if we can find a way to make a simple adapter we will do just that

We will be using our tried and true 750,850 and 950R turbos. there is a thread in the dyno section of the 850R on our time attack car making 750whp you should check it out. It will using a tial V-band external WG as well.

Which is why ours is a tubular cast manifold

Yes that tubular cast manifold is the bees knees, Mitsu should contract you guys to design the manifold for the Evo 11 or whatever they are going to call it!
Although then we would have no need to upgrade unless we went to a larger turbo combo that wouldn't fit in the Evo 11's stock turbo location.
