Oil Analysis - 08 Mitsu Evolution 4B11 2.0L Turbo Mobil1 EP 5w-30
Here it is... 5.2 TBN still left. Looks pretty decent to me.

Not shabby,
But did they explain why that iron number is up in the doble digits, although it seems you are still breaking in the engine so that could explain for that high number, i recomend you keep an eye on that number next lab, you have a good preventive maintenance program going on for your self, it could help you in catch any defects.
I have to brag, at that milleage most of the labs ive seen on our ATM 10W30 the TBN has been 10s and 11s
regardess you are lokking good

Yes, it does pretty well for my oil change intervals. I can go longer, however what has me worried a bit is that the oil sheared to a 20w oil. I think I will switch to Mobil 1 0w-40 to counter those shearing effects from fuel dilution.

Try AMSOIL Racing Dominator 10W30 next time. It will stomp that mobile one into the ground on ALL fronts. It's really impressive stuff; go read about it.

How many companies offer these services?
Is blackstone labs the best, or most common? Thanks!

If I wanted to use AMSOIL, I would buy AMSOIL. However, I daily drive the car. I do not require a "Racing Oil" for daily driving, when this one is doing its job perfectly.
It doesn't matter what oil you use, if you add fuel to any oil is will lose viscosity.
I am just trying to show people what is going on with these engines when you start modding and pushing these cars. There is fuel and oil blow by, which in turn will thin out the oil. Therefore, running something a bit more heavy will eventually shear down.
M1 EP 5w-30 did its job, plenty of additive left, however the shearing is a slight issue. Not a huge issue if you just daily drive, if you race of course change your oil more often.

I'm a strong believer in Amsoil... however in a daily driver its expensive. Very good oil and takes a while to break down... but I just cant justify the cost with the amount it needs to be changed for a daily. And yes I know that you can go miles upon miles with some oils... however I'm an old school guy. 3000-4500 miles and it's changed. Doesn't mean I dont take that oil and put it in the wifes explorer for another 3000 miles tho .

Yes, I am not saying its a bad oil. I am just saying exactly what you stated. There is now BEST oil, there is just very good oil that depends on the application. If something you are using works well for your application keep using it. I used M1 in all my cars never had one engine issue. Therefore, I do not see a reason to switch when this oil I can get it 5qt and M1 filter for $30 bucks. For AMSOIL I would had to spend $70 bucks with shipping for a oil change, and I bet if you introduce fuel into the mix it will shear just like the M1 does. So I think I will save my 30 bucks for another oil change.

oh you got the good ole Evo X , fuel dilution seems to be an issue on that car
Get some AMSOIL SSO 0W30 it has a high TBN and can counteract the fule dilution issues TBN is like a 14

Thats not completely true, it totally depends on the composition that oil is based.
good synthetics will hold up to much more abuse than 4500 miles, put some SSO 0W30 in that evo X and so an analysis on it at the same milleage and you will se the difference will be night and day.
