Thank you for the info guys, I will check my X tomorrow!
I have only 4k miles but just 2 days ago I've seen the IDC up to 100%, so I was already thinking that there was something strange.

I will try to measure directly the voltage (9V cruising, 12-14V boosting), but in any case can you explain me what test I can do switching the relay?
Someone suggests to switch the DRL relay and then check if the DRL work properly (if relay is bad, DRL will stay always on or off?); some other suggests to switch the high beam relay and check if high beam stay on (if relay is bad, they switch off after few seconds? And this is true also for HID lights?).

What do you suggest as best test?
Thanks!
(as always, sorry for my English )

SSD (Solid State Device) version of the relays. Possible replacement over mechanical.

Hey Naji,

I threw together a nice little HOW TO and posted it in the HOW TO section for the fuel pump test. feel free to chime in on it or refer people to it when you need them to confirm their relays are working

Here is a link

hope u solved the problem...but if your just getting knock and its not lean then maybe the stock knock sensor could be loose, this was a common problem on the 8/9 after a few years, although the X in still wayy new it could be an issue to look at...sorry if im no help lol

Mine went bad had to swap it out for the high beam relay yesterday. I thought I had a leak in the inlet pipe but turned out to be that. 22,000 miles with all stock fuel system. Crazy. At least it is easy to fix. Glad I have a wideband in the car.

I'm at about 5k on the odo and been getting random detonation... Swapped my fuel pump relay with the headlight relay to see if it helps... And if I notice my headlights acting up (I have HIDs and couldn't do the high-beam test) then we'll see.

Connecting dots - new Relay Part Number?

The issue is related to the stock fuel pump voltage switching relay. The Evolution 8, 9 and now the 10 all have a relay which switches the fuel pump from low voltage to high voltage when certain conditions are met (full throttle, or boosted conditions). ...
This issue seems to be prevalent on cars with higher mileage on them.

OK - so bear with me. I don't know what I'm talking about. Just trying to connect the dots and take preventative measures to protect my GSR...

There's a thread in the general forum talking about a new replacement Relay Part Number that is used for the Fuel Relay.

Can someone tell me if this relay could prevent the problem that Chris@AMS describes? Or are they completely unrelated issues?
