The pins breaking is caused by launching.

I've found one thread that says it's 4.6 something... how much better fuel/top end would a 4.28 do I wonder?

I'm pretty sure it's 4.28... I have one on order . 4.28 will trap around 135 in 4th at ~8000RPM. I have no desire to find the top end of 5th in this car with any ratio.

With taller gears, you might be able to cruise a bit faster and get the same MPG. If you're looking into this to save gas money though, stop reading right now. You will never make back even a fraction of what this upgrade will cost.

The concern with going any taller than 4.28 is that if you have an upgraded turbo, you'll need to downshift to accelerate from a normal cruise speed or else will get surge/etc.

I talked to Shep and he said they had a limited number of these set ups as feelers to gauge interest, it's going to be like 1600.00 for the taller set up and 150.00 if you need the pin set that has been breaking on some of the X's.

I wasn't actually looking to cruise any faster... it's 55 mph speed limit where I am so I don't cruise much over 60-62.
