Did you do a pump upgrade or not??

Bump for some more opinions from people who actually own either of these. I almost pulled the trigger on an FP Red today because of how insanely cheap they currently are, but I think the Blouch would be better for my DDing, and I want to see what CBRD comes out with before I make a decision.

Not secret i'm sponsored by FP. I'm very very picky who can touch my car, and i'm very cautious who is my sponsor. I do not want shady business guys connected my team name or my name. Where we send our proposal, we try to pick the best possible reputation company's available. So we picked FP. to send our proposal for them. That was a great decision for sure. Deal with them and so its just cant be better.
They put my turbo together for the Rally and it is flawless. They do amazing job.
I would not hesitate to get the FP , they are long time on the market for the EVo and they have a good reputation.

Thats my story about Forced Performance.
Its not much , but at least you can see how they do business with people.
Everything else , you can pick from dyno charts and Black Track achivment on FP Red.

Depends what you are using the turbo for. On straight pump gas these turbos make the same power between 25-27psi. Here is a few comparisons on some builds/tunes we have done:

Blouch:DG Motors Evo X: Dyno results and dyno testing {merge}

FP Red:
FP Red 411whp/365wtq DG Tuned!

Pros with blouch over red:

- Week turn around time, red will take you much longer to get

- no surge, fp red surge

- blouch has quicker spool up

- broader torque curve over red

no doubt that FP is a very solid company

that does NOT, however, mean they have the best turbo for the X. (and I'm a huge FP fan boy, my 99gsx has an FP3052 sitting in it, cost almost twice what the Xs FP red does...)

Had my Dom 2 installed 5 days ago. I'm completely happy with it so far. I only paid 1299.00, so just a tad more than Red on Sale. Car feels like I'm driving around the stock car plus 50-70 hp. I have cams to though.

I have nothing to say bad against the Red. I have no experience and have not risen in a red eqiped car.

I agree with most of what has been said above, but also think that any stock frame turbo is going to need higher boost and therefore better fuel to perform at full potential. The advantage of stock frame is, of course, that it spools faster than a big turbo. Nothing will spool as fast as a stock turbo at pump gas psi. period. There WILL be cons to upgrading your turbo and then not running it in its effiency range. It does seem that the smaller blouch will spool faster at lower psi. I think the Red will have more high psi potential, but so far they still seem pretty close. That said, at 30psi, my Red is pretty insane and spools closer to stock than it did at the lower psi tune. As far as porting, I would say it might help at the top end, but for daily, you may be comprimising the integrity of the turbo for no real gain.

My opinions, to make a long story short: Blouch for driveability on pump gas, Red for a bit more top end potential when using race gas / E85 (we'll see if there are any more horses left in mine next week). Stock turbo on E85 for the low cost winner

Is one better for pump gas?
Is one better at spooling up?
Which is closest to stock spool?

My personal objective is to have a fast reliable pump gas X. I prefer stock like manners but with power upon desire. I have no desires to track the car either drag or on a road course. Driveability is very important for me. The turbo install would include fuel injectors and a re-tune. Any help is greatly appreciated. Those with personal experience with either on the X please post your comparisons in regards to stock driveability.
i have the blouch turbo 2.0 on my evo x,im also wondering if whats said about it is true!!!is it really the same internals as gt3076r???
