I should add that I have nothing bad to say about the Blouch turbo, it seems to be putting down some great numbers. Doesn't seem like either choice will be bad, but I think in the end the FP might make more power. That said, I am very happy with my FP Red and can't wait to post some of the new dyno graphs

I'll give you guys a little hint... The HTA3076 and Red use the same compressor. Approx 57 lb/min flow rating.

Are you talking about the FP Red for the Evo IX? To begin with an Evo IX turbo is bigger than an Evo X turbo, so by installing HTA wheels in the IX turbo to make it Red Spec it will produce more power than a Red Spec X turbo.

I'm going to assume you're speaking about the completely gutted CT9A Evos, with slicks, and pushing maximum boost in the link below that trapped 140+mph. It's safe to assume that power to weight ratio, not simply massive power, is what propelled them beyond 140mph. Those cars are likely to have about maybe 550whp and weighing 2700 pounds or less.

I already said in my previous post that they have the same internals. It would sure be nice to have a 650whp turbo that spools close to stock, but that is too hard to believe. If what I think is true than the Garrett Twin Scroll GT3076R for the Evo X upgraded to HTA spec will end up being the same turbo, but spooling just as quick as stock. I don't know, man.

^Someone make this magical turbo happen......It will be called the "FP Crack", because describing its "bombdiggiddyness" will make you sound like you're on crack.

Edit: I mean no disrespect to Forced Performance. It's just what the other posters are saying is unbelievable.

I noticed on FP's web site that they claim the HTA3076R to sustain 40psi boost with a 57lb/min wheel, but the Red for X is only listed as sustaining 35psi boost no mention of what weel is used.... So even if the internals are the same the, I don't think the red is pushing the same lb/min as the HTA3076R. Just food for thought.

I asked FP in the other FP RED thread for the flow rate for the X red but never got a response.

Per Blouch's site, the Dom II uses a 52 lb/min Garret GT wheel. FP states the garret gt wheel on the regular 3076R is also a 52lb/min wheel. I'm fairly sure Blouch uses a garret turbine as well but I'm not 100% sure. So it would seem there is a diff in the wheels but without more info from FP not sure we can really claim the X Red uses the 57lb/min wheel, especially given the discrepancy on the sustained boost output....

^^I am pretty sure both will get the job done, and produce similar results on a dyno. I would just talk to the people you plan on getting the installation and tune by and see which one the prefer to work with. I was all set on going with the Red until I talked to the vendors that I work with for install and tune. They prefer to work with the Dom 2.0, so I will go with that. Im just looking to eclipse 400whp, so absolute peak horsepower is not an issue. I say talk to who ever you plan to have work done by, and see who the prefer since that is who they will be comfortable with.

here is some insight...

you should expect the obvious from the two turbos...

the BT dom 2X is a smaller turbo.. hence it DOES spool quicker.... the FP is larger and it will make more power as the boost increases....

we have our own turbo in development with Blouch (consider the results of our BBK turbo for the 8/9) that is larger than the dom 2 x and its on my personal X right now

ill have more info shortly.

Doh! Didnt see that, my apologies. I think it will be a long time before we see turbochargers that powerful able to spool similar to a stock Evo turbo.

Yes, Blouch uses a Garrett 3076R CHRA modified for the Mitsu housings. The differences in boost level vs mass flow rate testing can be attributed to the housings the compressors are in, and also what cars they are tested on. To flow 57 lb/min on the X you wont need to run the same boost as you will if you have the red on the 8/9, due to better VE. FP has the Red listed for "well over 35psi" so it could be capable of the same pressure levels as the 3076.

300 pounds is worth around .3 in the 1/4 mile.

this isnt exactly correct....

you should check with blouch to verify what youre saying.
