can i switch from 53040007 to 52360018

does anyone know if there are any issues with writing the gsr rom, 52360018, on the rs 53040007. 0018 is much better supported and i'd like to move to it.

From my personal experience, I was able to use a USDM and EDM ROM in my JDM EvoX. But I have heard that it wasn't possible on the USDM to switch to another country's ROM. Just backup your current ROM and give it a try.

wow from LHD ROM to RHD and no probs ... good info SiC ... but isn't it weird, from others to USDM yes but USDM to others no .. weird.

i think it shuould work though, just a little off topic, my ROM is EDM but using EVOSSCAN mode23 JDM to datalog so i guess it should work if the ROM is switched. give it a try and keep everyone updated.

better supported was incorrect and i should have said maybe more popular. however, i've always had a problem with the 53040007 stationary rev limit and it could never be set.

where can i get a standard 53040010 and fully defined xml from? tephra could you provide me with this? i've only found one that is for sst and this is a 5speed.

It works on the JDM to other models because JDM are the only ones that have extra wires coming out from the ECU .. the rest of the models have about 6 wires short ..

Changing the ROM ID to a JDM specific ROM is not recommended... as it's possible to burn something .. but definitely unable to start after a few tries ..

I know that some of the wires are the intercooler sprayer wires that are not supplied on the USDMs.
