AWC Reflash = service light??

So I just got my X done up at the dealership for the fuel return pipe, hood latch, and the AWC reflash. Everything was running well until just now....

I was in a parking deck finishing a cigarette and decided to give the engine a few spirited revs (engine was fully warmed up and I also drove a good 15 minutes before revving). Nothing crazy or anything like revving it up to redline. I only went as far as 4.5-5k rpms and what do you know.... the service/check engine light comes on and at the same time I noticed a slight smell that wasn't the normal smell from the exhaust.

The only mods I have are a stage 1 from cobb and an HKS drop in.... Mind you, I don't beat on the car and I RARELY ever redline or come close. It's my first fairly expensive car so I drive it carefully.

I really hate to go back to that dealership just for the fact that I have to sit there and wait a good 2-3 hours for the simplest tasks to get completed. Has anyone experienced this???

Use your OBD-II reader to pull the code and tell us what it says.

You DO have an OBD-II reader, right? I mean, a 30k+ car, mods, a modding attitude, and you have a 100$ tool, you've just neglected to use it to pull the code before posting, right?

Good. We'll wait here. Pull the code, and tell us. I'll grab a cola and be right back.

I have an AP. Didn't have time to pull the codes just yet. I turned the car off and back on and the check engine went away. I'll try to repeat the service light when I get my AP connected and get back to the forum.

Not neglecting anything. The AP was the first tool I bought so I could use the monitoring tools. Just put up a quick thread to see if anyone has had this problem.

Update:

I couldn't replicate the service light. Plugged in my AP and it didn't find any codes either... I have no idea what happened earlier but it bugged me out.

any idea on what the A/F ratio was? that could be the smell...

if I may ask, why in the world would you buy an AP for the monitoring tools when there is Evoscan?

I bought the AP more for the stage 1 map to wake up the car a bit. Since there's already a datalogging/monitoring function I didn't bother getting evoscan.

Did you unmarry the AP when you went to the dealership before the AWC reflash?

Yes I did. But the AWC has it's own ECU so it's not affected.
