Need help / suggestion

Hi guys,

Since I got my tune 2 weeks ago my car always have this issue :
I can feel a HUGE hesitation / knock in 5th gear when my car is around 4k RPM and go WOT. I had a CEL (don't know what code) event once, I was able to turn it off by unplugging the battery

I cannot go back to my tuner since it's a 8 hours drive

The problems I don't have any way to measure anything ( AFR, boost, etc...)
I did switch the fuel pump relay to see if this was the problem

What would be your best advice

Regards,

My guess would be it's overboosting in fifth gear due to the increased load. This is one of those things that logging on the street would help identify. I think you really need to invest in an OP2.0 cable and evoscan to at least get a datalog. Your tuner or people on here can then help identify the issue and resolve it (probably just minor tweaks to the map that won't require you driving 8 hours to go see your tuner in person).

Hehe ya I guess it's time to start data logging on my car.
Do you think to validate this I can decrease by 1/2 turn my MBC and see if I can replicate the issue ?

yeah i think boost too high and load on high gears .. timing too aggressive.

reduce boost, lighter on the accelerator for now and lowering a little timing will a big help

datalogging will be a very good idea. get a WB too.

just my 2 cents

yeah since your tooner is so far away its a good idea for you to get a OP2.0

that will at least show you what's going wrong (codes as well)

Thanks for the feedback,

I already ordered Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 with Full Adapter Set
I guess I will need a boost and AFR gauge.
Do I need anything else ?

I did my search and come with Innovate LC-1 for my wide band
With my Tactrix open port 2.0 and my wide band is itALL I need to data log AFR ration and boost ?
I will be able to read the CEL code from those ?
With ECU Flash (my tune is made with ecuflash) I will be able to change setting myself base on my tuner recommendation ?

You also need evoscan to data log with ($25 software). I don't think it reads CEL yet, but is supposed to in the future. I would advise datalogging with the LC-1 and evoscan, sending the logs to your tuner, and having the tuner email you an updated map to try to address the issue.

Hello there,

Today I was able to log some data with the mode23 enabled.
The good thing was I was not able to replicate the fuel cut. It's good because today it was warm outside (16 Celsius) and the boost mesure was 26 psi (same psi whereI left my tuner area). It will be nice to have some cold temperature to replicate the issues and see what boost I got.

I got a question on mode 23. Why my boost is at -10 psi in idle RPM ?
Is 26 psi is the correct boost ?

You can see here some data after a WOT in 5th gear on the highway

Drives: Evo X GSR to be.

To me it looks like your timing is advanced to much where your getting knock, i'd back it up a degree at a time in that load range until it goes away. That knock was probably amplified last time.
