(PICS) KNOCK when your LTFT's lean out...check it out

If you want to see knock here it is...once I had this knock happen feels like the car falls on it face or you are getting major clutch slippage. However look at the AFR from the AEM UEGO. CBRD is fixing my maps, not sure why this is happening.

Just want to show what real knock looks like... people start yelling wolf when they get 1-2 counts. Try 33-36 knock. Once you start getting 50-70 you are having serious problems.

Lean but no knock...

Lean knock....

Lean still knock...

That I cannot. I am tuned via COBB AP. So I can only show you what happens up to 125KPA which about 19PSI. I can't have MODE23 enabled to show you the other options.

However, hollywood_x suggest it might be signs of the stock clutch slipping.

19 psi answers my question,

does this happen on a hot motor or early in the drive?

13 is a little lean for 19 psi , no?

36 is max knock count. At least it was with Evo 8/9.

13.7 AFR is a bit extreme for -6 fuel trim. Have you checked you relay? Is this WOT?

36 is max knocksum

also as long as your LTFT's arn't maxed out then you arn't really running lean - since the STFT+LTFT will ensure you run stoich

Hmmm....so this could possibly be a slipping clutch that causes this...

You would see a slipping clutch in the RPM log. It wouldn't be a linear progression but shoot up then down and catch.

If it was a real 30+ knock count you would hear it, and possibly see a rod in your rearview...

logging rpm & speed could help identify slippage if you can get a high resolution

No rod through the side... car runs fine. Just felt like the car dropped on it's face. Kind of felt like a slipping clutch...

Well I would imagine the timing being pulled from the ECU thinking there is 36 knock counts would be substantial enough to make the car feel like it's falling on it's face. take a look at the timing log

So is that clutch slipping or the car running lean???
