I can trust it, because if I see a funny reading I know to ignore it...
like if I tuned for 11:1 and then all of a sudden I was seeing 10:1 I know the LC1 has probably stuffed up... and I can ignore that log...
HOWEVER with narrowband sim, the car doesn't have that filtering capability, it places complete trust in the signal being correct... it doesn't ask me first hehe
space is also an issue with the 02 sensor

Hmm so if I always had a wideband gauge mounted, and occasionally checked WOT AFR's to make sure the LC-1 was accurate, then could it be trusted as a narrowband simulator? I'd rather not weld a bung into the stock downpipe if I dno't have to

well in all honesty I am probably being over-dramatic..
narrowband only revolves around 14.7:1, which the LC1 seems to be fairly good at getting right.. ie its doesn't need to be that accurate.
hey - give it ago, you will find the heater for the narrowband an issue, you *might* get away with disabling that bit to disable the heater for the front narrowband thou...

I am also interested in possibly replacing the OEM narrowband with my LC-1.

What do you mean "stuffed up"? How is space an issue?

I think that's UK/Aussie English for "messed up".

So tephra, the wideband should be 3 inches in front of the stock sensor but at a 10:30 o'clock position, passenger side? (considering a USDM LHD car)..
The stock o2 sensor is at a 12 o'clock position right (vertical)?

funks - if your looking towards the front of the car (being under it) the wideband should be at like 0130..
make sense?

Just to clarify one more time before I start drilling the hole - lol..
So on a USDM-LHD car - if viewing the downpipe from the front (bumper) of the car looking back if then it should be 10:30 position (around 315 degrees) should be pointing up/left towards the passenger side..
Basically, reversed compared to the location shown in the following pics - eq. AMS widemouth downpipe

yeah that will work.
the two after market piece you have will have the 02 sensor coming out at horizontal almost...
next time your under the car just take a look - you will see there is a lot of space above the pipe..
