NEW Spec Ops Dyno RECORD - Evo X FP Black w/ stock block on 93 oct. 508whp/392wtq

It was a pleasure for me to tune Cody Riley's Evo X (oriley9959); and thank you for your business sir! Cody has a great setup and beautiful car. Cody brought his Evo to our dyno day in Chesapeake yesterday. Matt and Myself worked to get him his 500whp goal that he had wanted. I must say that the car did it with ease on an extremely hot day. I did 6 pulls to get it to 508whp safely and the car only knocked twice out of the 6 pulls and only 1-2 count. The Car has an amazing graph with a flat torque curve Enjoy

Below are his mods.

-Stock Block
-Ported FP Black
-FIC 1100 Injectors
-DW 300 pump
-MAP coated hotside
-GSC S2 cams
-Beehive springs and retainers.
-ARP head studs
-Cosworth head gasket
-AMS SRI intake
-MAP tubular exhaust manifold.
-Xtremeboost dump to atmosphere DP.
-ultimate racing UICP.
-speed circuit test pipe.
-agency power exhaust.
-Hallman Pro MBC
-ETS FMIC
-Synapse dv

Cody seemed to be very happy with his tune. I'm sure he will be chiming in here shortly and adding some pics of his car. If anyone has any questions for me or Cody, I'm sure we can help you out. Thanks again Cody and congrats.

Great numbers, but I wouldn't really call it a record, lol. 1. The stock rods will give at this level if you run it long enough and 2. No one else really tries/wants to push 31+ psi on a stock frame stock block.

Regardless, I think its a sweet setup and I hope he builds the motor very soon.

planning on doing a built motor this winter and switching to e-85. so we will see what happens. i had a chance to drive it today and did a few pulls and am very impressed with the power delivery and the fact that it is still very friendly to drive. thanks again spec ops for the tune.

Thanks for the info on the stock rods . This customer had a goal to make 500whp. We met his goal, safely with no knock, and advised we leave it at 29psi off the dyno. The car was very well put together and was a tuners dream on the dyno. I would like to see him install a built motor in it also so we can go at it again on pump gas, then throw some race gas in it. It had more in it but we decided to that was enough on the stock block. Regardless of what you say, I'll call it a record on the stock block/FP Black

Murlo, I'm not to worried about the rods as the spool is coming in later. Also cylinder pressure is kept lower at spool to help keep the rods in one piece. ETS ran high tq on their stock motor X. They lost their motor due to a rod bolt failure because of high revs, not breaking a rod. Boost is really not a huge determining factor Murlo, timing will pop a motor much quicker than boost will. We had lower timing and higher boost on Cody's car on the dyno, doesn't mean it will be on the streets that way. It is much safer on a stock motor to make power with boost than timing.

He is actually talking about the stock rods in themselves... there are a few that have lost motors running around and over 400ft/lb of torque.... Murlo is one of the lucky guys.

The sheet says 31 psi... maybe the dyno's sensor is bad?

You just jump started our #1 and only hater something to feed off of as I'm sure he wanted to tune the car before we did. I didn't take anything you said personal. I can see where your coming from with your experience. No worries

It is not a problem Murlo. You were not starting anything, we have known eachother for a couple years.

Man I just wanted to read the "Record thread" and it turned into a battle royal. Hopefully there's not this much animosity when I move out to WA.

Anyways:
I'm super stoked for Cody and his newly tuned machine. I think Spec Ops did a really good safe tune. Congrats to all involved. Can't wait to get some numbers out of mine.
