Ivey Tuned MR Stock 305 whp-320 wtq

I was leaning toward leasing a 335i before I bought the EVO MR, I wanted something with performance but not droaning loud like my evo 8 ended up. First thing i did was bring it in for a bone stock tune got around 290whp 300 wtq. Now after months of deciding what to put in it, just added a K&N drop in and went for a fine tune. It may not look like much gain but it just pulls better all the way threw. If you have a MR and don't want a loud exhaust or the sucking of a air intake ,etc. Bring it to Sean in NJ. It is every bit stock, yet can crush stock 335 and even pull (slightly) on a GTO at track. I'm very impressed.

Congrats on your nice tune!

Watch out, though. A 135/335 with similar mods (tune and intake) will make 375whp on a Dynojet with a lot more area under the curve and flip the odds back in BMW's favor in a hurry.

You gained 15whp and 20wtrq from just a drop-in K&N? Thats impressive. What were the weather conditions on the two days you dyno'd?

Wow I didnt think they could get that much whp. I guess that's with a custom Dyno tune. I wonder how many BMW tuners are around, maybe next car.

The "tunes" for the N54 cars are weird. You just install it and you don't have to "tune" it i believe. They make good power, but those cars have faulty fuel pumps from the factory that fail very often so it wouldn't be fun to own it out of warranty.

Nope JB3, Vishnu V3, Giac, are all just plug and go tunes basically. Add in a drop in, downpipes, and maybe a fmic and they are closing in on 380-400whp and 420+wtq. Be VERY careful with them on the highway...they get out of the realm of a stock turbo IX or X real quick.

WOW thats an amazing difference. So only a K&N drop in filter and you gained an estimated 80-85whp, CRAZY!!!

Mine is a GSR, I hope I can get similar power levels.

Enjoy the car and congrats!

Yeah thats what I read, vishnu claims 380 engine hp from their piggyback, not whp. Im glad I went with the MR, $34,000 - 0% finance instead of Leasing a 335. Plus it hauls Arse now.

Well he went from 220whp to 290whp with a tune (70whp), then wound up with 305whp with the addition of a K&N drop-in (+15whp). So the drop-in got him 15whp, the tune got him the rest.
