304/305 bolt-ons DBPerformance tune

The results on my car are typical for a stock turbo, pump, and bolt-ons. We continue to get a lot of questions in the newbie forum about what can be expected with full bolt-ons, so I figure this is worth posting anyway.

My tuner was Shane at DBPerformance. He went with 25psi as long as the turbo would hold it and then tapered.

Many of these mods are not needed at my power level and some are just bling. I will eventually coax another 100hp out of it, so the supporting mods will only go to waste for a while.

Power
BP93 octane, DW800 injectors, UR Walbro kits, AMS fuel rail
AFE drop-in, Perrin turbo inlet
Perrin FMIC & 3-port, UR licp/uicp
Specialty-X tbe w/hfc

Bling
Okada plasma coils, HKS M40XL plugs
Mishimoto radiator, fan shroud, & piping
APR rad plate, Subtle engine cover, and lots more carbon fiber to come

A stock GSR is 215hp on this dyno.

Good numbers!

Engine bay looks good, a new airbox would really set it off.

If I had to do it over again I'd go with an AEM induction box but I've already bought the turbo inlet and filter so I'll stick with it.

What was your baseline at mlomker? Bet the car feels better now

I think stock X's are 205-215 on Shane's, depending on your car.

I didn't ask for a baseline before installing the larger injectors and 3-port, so I won't know for sure until I run on MAP's dyno for a second time (I ran 281 pre-tune on MAP's Dynojet). If I am in the 350's (as the Dyno Dynamics 'shootout mode' suggests) then that's a satisfying number on pump.

I did ask and he said 215 for GSR and 205 for MR. MAP had told me 245-255. I didn't see a very big bump just from bolting stuff on because I stuck with the stock air box and that doesn't lean out the stock tune the way that a short-ram would. I really needed a tune to see the big power bump.

It's low compared to a dynojet sure, but its right about where it should be for a 1.0cf dyno dynamics.

They load the cars closer to that of the street than a dynojet.

They really strapped the car down relative to what MAP did -- the suspension was compressed half-way rather than just being held in place.
