TTP tunes the Megan Twin Exit TBE'd GSR to 344whp!
Gabor brought to us his 2008 Evo X GSR unmolested. Earlier in the week he had secured an appointment for dynotuning and wanted us to aquire and install a turboback exhaust system on his new car.
With our help he settled on the Megan Racing twin exit ss polished exhaust system with matching downpipe and testpipe.
Immediately upon datalogging the car, we found the boost to be high and erratic. We are unsure if it is related to the free flowing exhaust and reduced backpressure raising up the boost however it is a likely contributor. Baseline boost was at a surprising 24psi, not far off from the final boost value after tuning shown below:
In the end, the stock wastegate actuator response was still kind of strange, like it was tighter than some other stock actuators we have seen, but we managed to wrangle the duty cycles of the twin boost solenoids and get it under control.
The baseline was a little off kilter since the exhaust was already ON THE CAR at time of testing as well as the unorthodox 24psi stock boost level this 4b11 was working with right off the bat.
In the end the Evo X gained about 50whp within a half psi of the factory boost of 24psi, however with our custom programming, MIVEC cam control the car settled at a healthy 344whp with a very happy Evo owner behind the wheel.
