TTP-Tuned Kelford 214-A Cammed 93oct Evo X!

Jon decided that it was time to step his game up with his 2008 Evo X GSR. With a TBE, INJEN intake kit, modified BOV, he already had a solid start with his car. Next up this time around he decided to invest in the Kelford Cams 214-A mild cams for the 4b11.

The Kelford 214-A's do not require the springs and retainers upgrade that their big brother the 214-B's do however still deliver enough performance to boost the turbo Mitsubishi's ability to suck and blow air through the engine. This wasn't our first rodeo, so in short time we swapped out the cams on the 4b11t.

Besides the Kelford's Jon also decided to upgrade the wastegate actuator to a Forge CNC billet polished aluminum high boost unit which would later help to achieve and hold boost while retaining the factory boost control solenoids.

While using the factory boost solenoids with custom TTP-Engineering fueling, ignition timing, MIVEC intake and exhaust cam programming, we were able to achieve 379whp with 342tq on 93 pumpgas alone.

Here is the graph:

Saturday is going to be the longest day of my life as I wait to get off work to make the drive down to FL.

Would a 3-port help the car hold boost better on top of the forge actuator?

Based on the gains we have seen with another Evo X this week on Kelford 214-A's, I think it would be fair to say that a FMIC upgrade is definately worthwhile.

How did these cams idle? And how much power were they actually worth in your opinion?
