Stock Evo X MR/DG Motors Tune +90whp
I have to say that this is the first time I've ever gotten a tune of any kind. I wasn't sure what to expect but Pete was patient answering all of my questions both by email and phone. I set up an appointment and after getting lost initially ( ) I finally found the place.
The strongest impression I got was how professional and organized Pete and the crew were. I've been to other shops for work on cars before and there's always that sense of "car guys" working on cars, but Pete's professionalism definitely put me at ease and gave me confidence that my car was absolutely in good hands. He explained the process to me again, put up with all of my questions, and showed me where I could hang out near by to take pictures and follow along with the cars progress.
We did the initial baseline tune and it topped out at 185.2whp, second lowest MR to dyno at his shop . Then the magic began lol.
After just some initial tuning Pete was able to bump it up to around the 230s and 240s. The graphs showed that the stock boost controller was maxed out at 22 psi and having problems holding steady. He recommended a manual boost controller and after getting that in, the numbers were unbelievable. I figured we'd get some good gains but 272.6 whp and 290+ wtq from just a tune and a boost controller?? Not only that, Pete really took the time to smooth out both curves and make them as linear as possible. It's always a treat to me to watch a perfectionist at work, especially when that work is on my car .
I also got some other stuff done (state inspection and plates/reg put on) and they gave me a great package deal. Eric helped me to go over parts and next steps for upgrade paths (I think an intake and exhaust package are in my future ). Especially after the road test, I'm completely hooked! I know people always say things like "the car felt completely different, etc" but the difference was night and day. This was not the same car I came in with. Even Pete seemed pleasantly surprised lol. But at low speeds it still exhibited the docile, mild manners, and balance that I wanted in the MR; that nice "Jekyll & Hyde" switch. It even seems to have gotten rid of the jerky shifting at low speeds. Get on it tho and it's angry!
After my car was done the crew was gracious enough to let me hang out , check other cars that were being worked on, generally talk shop, and just take in all the Evo and turbo charged glory. Riding shotgun in Pop's Evo X GSR was crazy: I don't know if I was green with envy or dizzy from how hard the damn thing pulls . I'm looking forward to taking my car in for its 3k service and going over all my options for upgrades. To Pete, Pop, Eric, Vinnie, Hakan, Fran, and Allen thanks for making my first tune a great one! I'll be out there again pretty soon I hope . Pete, lemme know when you get the graphs up and thanks in advance for posting it up for me. DG Motors ftmfw!!

Enjoy!

Dyno Sheets.
I would like to note that I worked 3-4 hours on tuning this bone stock evo x mr to get to this power level. Extensive timing and mivec mapping was used in hand with tedious fueling to get the graphs perfectly linear.
After the stock bcs was capped out we decided to turn the wick up with a halman pro mbc and see how much further we could go.
Needless to say this car is much faster than how it came from the factory after we got done with it.
Incredible gains throughout the whole power band!
Car runs real well. Enjoy Eric, see you soon!

Sorry Eric but I believe this should be posted in the "Evo X Dyno Results" Section which is one section above this.
Mods, can we please move this thread to the appropriate forum? Thanks!

Agreed
Just trying to be nice since the "rules" said no posting in the Dyno Results section without a dynosheet as the first post. Admins, are we ready to move?

Great gains But the title of the thread is a little misleading because the car isn't 100% stock. You guys put an MBC on it and that's when you saw big gains.
Either way, great gains and I'm sure the car is a blast to drive

Ok, That is fair enough, but the car is completely stock and un-touched otherwise.

Yeah that's really more my fault. I'm really pretty new to all of this, but if you read my original post, I noted both the original gains (or approximations since I don't remember exactly how high we got it without the MBC.... somewhere in the ballpark of 230-240whp if I remember correctly. Do you recall Pete?) without the MBC and with. I'll try to be more precise with my titles from now on though

I believe we stopped with stock ecu controlled boost around 235whp. We then added the mbc and cranked it up to 270whp.

No worries. I only mentioned something because too many guys on this forum only read the title and look at the dyno graph...and don't read to get the whole story. And then they think that a 100% stock Evo will pick up 90whp.
How are you liking the car? I'm sure it's a blast to drive. The DG guys seems to be doing some really great things with their tunes and their customers seem to love them

Still great gains either way you look at it. I mean, just an MBC and tune and these cars really come to life. That's impressive
