Evo X Red tuned on E85 @ AMS!!

Update 11/09: Went back to AMS for some tweaks and to make the switch from manual boost control to ECU boost control. So far I'm very happy with the results. Driveability has improved and the car is smoother and more civil at part throttle and on/off transitions. I just have to remember now to keep my foot to the floor to stay at peak boost, but I think that's how it should be . The car holds a bit more boost to redline and also picked up a few HP while there, which never hurts . THANKS AGAIN, AMS!!

481WHP and 443TQ uncorrected (471/434 SAE) @ 31PSI Daily Driver

8/09: Well, I've officially joined the Evo X E85 club. As expected, the FPRed has really come to life. Big thanks to Chris Black and the AMS crew as well as MidniteEco for the install help.

Stock Block
FPRed ported
Kelford 214-B Cams
DW 1000cc inj.
AMS Fuel Rail
AMS inline pump
AMS MBC (all the way in)
AMS front motor mount
AMS Cold air intake
HKS WGA
UR intank Walbro kit
highflow cat
FMIC, WM DP, CBE
ACT HDSS clutch

As you can see from this baseline the day before, bumping the boost from 25psi on 93oct to 31psi on E85 gained over 79whp and 89ftlbs:

I think this is just how the reds are supposed to be.

Maybe AMS is the only place who knows how to tune them, lol.

Did you run out of fuel Traction? What clutch disc do you have? street disc or do you have a six puck?

That is a very nice rig you have there. I'm curious .... now that you are running on corn.... do you plan to take any extra measures like change oil more often?

I would think that the RED would do more, I guess they are different on the X. I have seen these times on Pump gas Stock Turbo VIII's.

You need that final drive upgrade badly!!!

Toss in a XTSS Pressure plate while you are at it.

Thanks all for the props. The power jump still amazes me, even though numbers are right on with my goal for the car.

Shep trans is rebuilding a spare trans I picked up. His final drive ratio will be perfect for this power level, with more room to grow if ever needed.

AMS was great to work with. I went a little over board on the fuel system and added a Walbro inline along with the Walbro intank. Maybe not needed, but now I'm not pushing the in-tank to the edge. It's an HDSS street disc, rated to 500tq at the crank. I've got over 10,000miles on it already with the Red, and I'm getting close to that tq. Not sure what I'll try next, as I do like the feel on the street.

yes, got a case of AMSOIL, and going to go every 3,000miles (2 months). I was stretching it to 6,000 on gas.

Don't go by the timeslip, just posted that for FYI. I know it will do low-mid 11s and 120s. Maybe better than that if I borrow some slicks to run and/or take any weight out ... Also, a test pipe would have bumped up the power a bit, and I've heard of other people pushing more boost on Reds, but 31psi is plenty for me.
