Jose's DG Tuned Gsr +90whp/100wtq!

Just finished up Jose's beautiful Evo X Gsr. Really nice gentlemen from Jersey who came to our facility for some tuning. Jose wanted a conservative tune so rather than focusing on big boost on pump gas we utilized the 4b11-t's dual mivec and timing mapping to our advantage. At a conservative 23psi we squeezed an extra 90whp and 100wtq over the baseline!

Mods:


-Ams Catback
-Ams HFC
-Ams IC
-Ams Upper and Lower IC Pipes
-Ams "Cold" air Intake

Tuned by Pete

Dyno Sheets:




Gains:


+65whp/90wtq @ 3,800rpm

+85whp/85wtq @ 5,252rpm

+105whp/120wtq @ 7,000rpm



"Really focusing on timing/mivec allows you to really hold a nice smooth power band all the way to 7,000rpm on the stock turbo. The more boost and the harder your power/torque curves are going to fall off. Anyone can turn a knob on a boost controller but utilizing timing and mivec is where you really want to focus."

first thing first..thanks pete and the crew of dg motors for taking care of of my car. i actually took the longer route driving home to test (experience) the new found power. throttle response is amazing, it feels like a totally different car. even though i don't understand half of the stuff your telling me, i give you two thumbs up for taking the time to explain every step of the tune and for beeing honest. like what i said to you this afternoon, this is not the last time i will be here..thanks again for a great job

Not a problem Jose. We are still here at 8:30 finishing up more projects and I still have 2 evo 9's left to tune. 1 being an 80mm FP Red/Meth we are just buttoning up and another evo 9 stock turbo with and Aquamist/o2 housing/ exh. mani install with some other odds and ends that need to be tuned.

I am in the process of moving out of my house to just live/work here 24-7!

Pete would you say the AMS High flow cat works well? it has seemed pretty successful at the shop. Im thinking Im gonna come down the end of the month again from Beantown.

I baselined 218.9 lol. Pete would some mivec map adjustment have helped smooth out my car top end where the boost falls off?

Pete seems to be turning out some bad ass tunes the last few weeks? what happened to Charlie? Good work pete.

I would have to see what kind of mivec mapping is in your car to tell. That forge wga will surely take care of it stop worrying!

Charlie went away for a few weeks to take care of some business. I've always done the tuning around here. Charlie and I happened to bump into each other on accident and the rest is history. He surely relieved me as my father and I were the mechanics/tuners etc...With all of the tuning being taken care of I was able to relieve some stress and focus on the more mechanical aspect of things, answer phones, etc. Charlie will be back to tune in the near future but don't discredit my tuning abilities
