You guys realize that the 6 months free has to be activated? In other words once it stops working you can activate the 6 months free after that. All they need is your VIN.

I called Sirius because I didn't realize that the sat was already working. The rep told me that it was already functioning under some Mitsubishi account. He told me that I didn't have to activate the 6 months free, and told me to call them to activate it when it stops working.

Spoonie - really? I guess I just kinda assumed that they activated it when you bought the car. Mine ran out at 6 months pretty much exactly.

Mine started working all on it's own about a week after buying the car. I've never registered, talked to Sirius, etc and it's been on for about 1.4 years now...

anther trick i have learned is.... you have to know the exact date your sirius will end (get it by calling) then a week before the subscription is up, go behind your glove back and unplug the antenna. and leave it unplugged for 2-3 months.. then plug it back in. they have to send a deactivation signal for it to cancel. they send the signal for 60 days if i remember correctly. then after the time frame plug it back in. and viola! you should have sirius back... my buddy did it with his car and it worked like a charm.. he has had sirius for months now for free.... so ill give this a go in feb. when mine cuts out.. well so how it goes for me

Same here. Right at about 6 months is when it stopped working. Oh well, I didn't listen to it all that much anyway. iPod ftw!
