Another Eclipse AVN726e install.

Just installed an eclipse AVN726e unit in my PB 2009 MR with the Scosche kit. Ignore the fingerprints (please). The ipod cable is in the glove box, the mic is on the A column, and my blackberry bold fits nicely in the little cup above the shifter and connects bluetooth without issues. Backup camera installed just above license plate. Unit is fast and bright even in direct sunlight. Things that are missing: Cannot search by just street name within a state/province - you have to supply city which is a real problem in rural areas. The ipod interface has no search function and is slow to scroll items. The bluetooth interface does not link to contact list on blackberry so you still have to dial contacts by memory or are forced to pick up your BB to dial from contact list.

Issues are minor really, the unit is great - especially the lane assist and 3d street signs in nav mode.

Looks nice man. How much did the whole total package cost you, PM me if you want and where you picked it up. I might have to do this. Do you still have radio controls on your steering wheel? Also do you need an adapter harness for the Bluetooth?

I replaced all the stock speakers with alpines and added a trunk sub too, initially we had a 5 channel Alpine amp installed in the trunk but it was picking up engine noise (even after we replaced it with another of the same model). So we ended up with 2 eclipse amps instead, one under the drivers seat and one in the trunk - I think the eclipse sounds clearer than the alpine but not as powerful. I'll PM you the vendor and price.

No adapter needed for the bluetooth.

I have the same unit with the Bold FYI it's not compatible with the Bold because of the bluetooth obex. Question for you, is that an aftermarket camera or the Eclipse because I couldnt install a different camera with the eclipse unit.

Yep, it's an Eclipse camera. MY phone is a BOLD and I'm not having bluetooth issues other than the contact list.
