Adding sub to standard stereo

Hi Guys,

ok I have an old Pioneer TS-W1201C and Rockford Fosgate bd500.1 amp that I would like to install.

Now I would have normally jacked the rear speakers and used that as the input for a line converter but the rear speakers arn't on the rear shelf, but in the door.

Which makes it a bit harder.

I have noticed that there are some wiring harness's going from the HU to the drivers chair to the "sub" location for a "SSS" model (I assume)

Has anyone played with these existing cable-runs to see if you can get a Line level signal FROM the stock HU to the rear of the car?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
D.

so I saw the sticky about adding a new deck with stock amp.

it looks like C107 (plugs into the deck) runs to under the drivers seat (D30)

So can I just patch the D30 connector into the D29 connector (also under the drivers seat) which connects back to the F26 connector (in the boot).

So I basically run "front left + and -", "front right + and -" wires (4 in total) from the deck to the boot - and then do my line convertor + amp + sub setup.

Anyone see a problem with this?

Remote on for the sub:

I will use the +12v from my "tail park lights" for the RemoteOn on the sub.

I drive with my headlights on 100% of the time anyways.

Means less wiring around the car

Looks good to me.
Much easier and cleaner than hacking into the harness at the back of the radio.

Hrmm..

well I took the passenger seat out (RHD passenger seat = LHD driver seat) BUT there is no D30 or D29 connector.

I have D31/32/33 but not 30/29...

it seems strange that mitsu would have 2 wiring setup's just for SSS vs standard sound
