I'd love to see that mounted in a trim kit. But $879 is still a lot compared to the $199 I paid for a refurbished Acer Aspire ONE netbook from tigerdirect.

The best option is for a double din touch screen, then throw a Mini-ITX sized car pc behind the glovebox or under the seat.

If I were to do a car PC mod for myself (I've built some for other people), I'd use the CID650 screen.

http://www.cartft.com/catalog/il/729
- 6.5'' LCD 800x480 native resolution
- VGA input for PC
- USB input for touchscreen capability
- 4x25w built in amplifier w/ RCA
- built in DVD-ROM
- built in rear view camera input
- built in AM/FM radio
etc..

There's also some double din car pc's that have everything all-in-one, but those are like $1800+ and contain garbage hardware.

A cheaper (and looks to be better) one with easy shipping in the USA. It uses a high quality sunlight readable Sharp LCD w/ touchscreen.

I'd stay away. It looks nice though. What it is, it's a cheap low-budget made embedded system. It has a proprietary OS that someone coded out of their home in their spare time, most likely. I've seen friends purchase those before, and they are very buggy and don't work like you'd expect. I do like the design though. You could always buy it, then gut it and throw a real PC in there.

i bought an "i-pod" while i was in china for $20. it was more a novelty purchase than anything else. it was just a basic mp3 player. it worked for a couple of months. the chairman mao watch i bought was a better investment.

thank you for your response, not going to try it.

I believe it has windows CE, but yea i would also advise building your own car pc as it can be done especially with $600 that it would cost to buy that unit off ebay. I think it would be worth it if that unit was priced about $300 shipped rather than $600. i would like to see it operating in person though..

Well, proprietary front end in that case. My headunit (AVIC F700BT) runs Windows CE, and it's still a ***** to work with. There are tons of mods out there, but nothing is easy. For $600-$1000, a custom car PC running Win7 & Centrafuse is lightyears ahead in terms of capabilities.

The premise looks really good but the software looks like garbage. Would be a great platform for someone who knows how to code. The unit looks more factory than the factory GPS unit. If it were 300 I would try it.
