I finally took it in and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem, wtf... and I didn't have time to drive them around and listen, so I said forget it.. I'm probably going to upgrade the headunit anyways But if I go back for a service I will try it again and keep you posted.

BTW I changed the stock speakers out and put some Boston 6.5 coax with some damplyfier pro and it is sounding pretty good (non rockford), I think it just needs a little more juice from a aftermarket HU.

I just started having an issue with the Passenger side front speaker, I have taken apart the door panel two days in a row but finding nothing loose there. Didn't know about the radio part, will test that later today.

*EDIT*
On the way home from work, listened to the radio, over the bumpy parts of the highway, never had any speaker issues with the radio. Turned on the cd and after a bit, it started, while front right speaker was out, turned on the radio and all sound was instantly back, flip flopped a few times to make sure I wasn't going crazy and sure as hell was the issue. Only while CD is playing and when I hit bumps.

Haven't had a chance to take my car in since all the Mitsu dealers in the Denver area don't have parts/service open on Saturdays!!!! Gotta figure out a day to go in during the week.

Sounds like it might be then if it's happening with your aftermarket HU.

My driverside tweeter isnt working now. Is that what you all are talking about?

Unless your refering to the amp in the head unit??? My car is a base no SSS and no amp? I know its not the speakers because if it were it would not matter if I were playing a CD or not. I will try and take mine in on the 28th since the dealer near me cant look at the radio on Sat. nor will they order another head unit untill the verify the problem!?!?!?!? So I will have to waste at least part of two work days to fix this annoying issue

Mine does this from time to time, I just give a good open hand smack on the dashboard just above the radio. It work but you look and feel like your driving a ****ty car.

lousEVOxmr, which dealer did you take your car to?

I don't have one since I bought the car use. Might go to Boisvert, I was told that they are mod friendly, they even offer some aftermarket parts.

I brought mine in, they said nothing is wrong. When I'm listening to MP3's from my iPod if fritzes out. I lose all sound sometimes, not just my driver side! Try swinging your car from left to right, it helps :\

I'm going to bring it back in when I have more time, this isn't something that should have to come out of my pocket.

Sometimes cutting speakers is a needle in a haystack and will not show up at the dealer.

I know I had an aftermarket stereo and amp set up cutting out, I trouble shooted it and it was the headunit itself.

I would go back to the dealer and tell them to swap out the head unit itself under warranty.
