Can you clarify this? If I have factory navi, are you saying the wire is on the C103 connector? How many pins does it have and what is the color? Thanks.
Also, I found the brown/white wire at the ECU but that is not working

No, the VSS wire is pin 31 on C107, which is the big connector that plugs into the stock radio. He was simply saying that C103 is the other, smaller connector that plugs in the radio.
Look at the wiring diagram a few posts up, and you'll see all the details outlined. (White with blue stripe)

Thanks! Indeed I found it. I had the MMCS unit which used several connectors. The vss is on the only 20 pin connector of the bunch and it is white w/ blue stripe. This is the same harness that connects to the Metra (or the like) aftermarket harness.
Also, my new nav unit disables all nav functions if the vss shows 4+ mph. I'm not sure if other nav's do this or not. I found this seriously annoying so I connected a rocker switch inside the top if the cubby hole, above the stock Ipod RCA input. When the switch is in on, the vss signal connects through to my nav. When it is off, the vss is not connected and my nav thinks the vehicle is stopped and allows me to change settings. Hope this helps people. I searched for 1+ months trying to find vss and details.

so it seems as if a couple people have used this white wire blue trace to get the vss signal. Am I correct.
Some of these posts are confusing.
If you have used that white wire blue tracer are you getting an accurate speed feed.
thanks

Forget about the brown with white tracer. You want the white with blue tracer on the only 20 pin harness behind the head unit.

Does every one here have the premium radio? I got the base radio and tried tapping to the white/blue wire on the larger connector at the back of the radio but got no signal. Any ideas?

IN case anyone still has trouble here is the wire you need. Works great. I needed it for my AVCR install.

if someone can clarify, I am trying to get the magden in-dash gauges to work with a factory NAV unit,. Works awesome stationary, stops once car is in motion. It is plugged into the aux input video source. So if I remove the white/blue wire as indicated in the post will that allow the gauges stay on screen once the car is in motion? if you remove the wire are there any negative aspects? thanks for the help
