So basically XXR's will stop your car running mechanically. LOL. We can ad that to the list of bad things knock-off wheels do. LOL

regardless of how it happened, even if the lug nuts were torqued improperly, a well casted wheel should not break like that after an impact.

If that car hit something hard enough you can't say what a wheel is "supposed to do" Looks like some kind of possible off road incident that the driver had.

Yeah... looks like there was a hard impact and that damaged the wheel. If the wheel had come apart, there would be more damage to the wheel well and I doubt the car would be in as good a shape as it is. I'm sure it would have flipped or something.

That being said, you can clearly see the rims are cast aluminum from the broken spokes...

so the story says there was no impact and you're saying there was an impact?

either way, stop spreading this crap around. the wheels either had a fracture in them already or they were hit hard by something and this story is to "justify" how it happened

We can add this pic to the other Rota pics that have been floating around the internet about the ills of replica wheels.

This is coming up since XXR's are the bees knees lately.

you mad bro?

some people mentioned she must have hit something. I was merely stating a well casted wheel shouldn't break that way. You can clearly see the wheel's barrel and spokes of the wheels broke off.

how is this spreading crap? just telling people who runs XXRs to becareful and check for hairline cracks.

btw, i do have a set of XXRs on my NA Miata.

modding is a gamble always
fuel for fire - if i drove any more- the wheel would have broken off and I would have crashed.

That failure surface has no signs of a fatigue crack.

That failure at the spoke happened from an impact.

That doesn't mean there wasn't a fatigue crack elsewhere on the rim that lead to all of this. Just saying the spoke doesn't look to be the initial failure point. Looks like crashing into the other car probably caused the majority of the damage that you see.
