Ive seen a few run 19's. Personally feel its is one diameter too large. Your tire aspect ratio will be too shallow (30 series)
Depends on what your goals are. My goal was to have a track day ready car so I went w/a 17x9 running 275's. (40 series)
IMO, Stay far away from anything in the 19" category.
Edit. You must have seen this active thread. 19" w/ his 30 series 265's. Although he received a few compliments, the consensus is, the wheels are too large in diameter.
The 19's make the Evo look more showy and less go-y, if that makes sense. On 17's they look aggressive and ready to tear it up, on 18's they look track ready and stylish, 19's would be one step too far.
I run 19's as street wheels and 17's as track wheels on my evo VI and yes you will loose alot of its character with the 19's. If an alignments is set up well you get a bit of its character back but the 17's are leaps and bounds better for performance.
Also strugle to get good tyre life from 19's. As soon as you add a little camber it tends to chew the inner edge.
If willing to get two sets of rims then go for it.
