I probably wouldn't, but my situation is different...

I had 17x9 wheels which I bought years ago for race rubber (autocross). I've since retired the Evo from autocross, but kept the wheels. Then when I damaged one of my 17x8 daily driver wheels (with stock size tires), rather than replace/repair it, I just switched to the 17x9 wheels.

gotcha. at least you are on star specs which run wide for there size. I say jump up to 255's once they are done...

I need advise on the below combination . . .

ADVAN RGII 18x9 +30 and Tire size 245/40R18 on my un-mod stock evo IX.

Is +30 too close? Will they fit ? or there will be any possibly problem?
w/ this setup, is there still space to lower the car in the future? thx ~

Yep, that will work. You won't have much room to go lower with the 245/40. I would recommend the 255/35. Even then I wouldn't go lower than, say, Swift springs without rolling the rear fenders. And I've never heard of them making a +30. Do you mean the +29?

Hey, didn't go through all 52 pages, so this might be a re-post, but this combo works on a stock setup:

Wheels: Rays TE-37 18x9.5 +35
Tires: Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec 255/35-18

On an note, Hikaru, your name/avatar are awesome. I finished out just about every series for my collection when I went to China.

^^^ Thanks bro! I'm happy that at least one person understood the name and picture. I think you should be fine with your set up. I'm running 18x9 +29 with a 255/35 star spec and have no problems. With 9.5 inch rim and +35 the only thing you may have trouble with is rim hitting the strut or other suspension pieces (not really sure on that one) but I think yer OK with fender clearance. If possible see if you can go with a 18x9 instead.

PS (I always thought Lisa Hayes was hot )

Thanks Hikaru, I guess I will go for the setup as you mentioned.
And you are right, i think they have only +31 and +29 for the RG2.

btw, i like minmay more.
Did you watch Macross Frontier? It gave me the feel like just copying everything from the original macross except the characters and the valkyries.

^Minmay is a whiney lil biotch that's always causing trouble lol! I haven't seen the newest stuff but I'll have to check em out.

18x9 is the way to go IMO +29 or +31 is great. Here is mine +29 with star specs 255/35

Maybe I didn't word it right, but I meant to say I already have the tires on and wanted to add it to the fitment list as working without rubbing on a stock setup. Here are some pics of them on my car, check it out:

After six months, finally got my Volks / Voltex

+1 for Minmae being super whiney but a girl like her can be useful every now and then, no? Lisa was a childhood crush but I think in the end I'd have to go with Myung Lone from Macross Plus FTW. Ah, such good memories.

Is Frontier the one that just came out in japan within the last year or so? I saw Shadow Chronicles and was let down. It really is let's just throw a new group of aliens in and have all the same situations with new character names. That Invid girl is smokin' though too, come to think of it.

^^LOL! I'm retarded. I thought you were asking if the fitment would work. Sorry bro. I actually checked out your other post but didn't put 2+2 together. I too was let down by Shadow Chronicles. I'm hopeing Harmony Gold will get the rights to release Macross: "Do You Remember Love?" on DVD. You can get it grey market but it dosen't work right in our western DVD players...

I have some 18x8.5 +46 gc06h wheels from my STI. What do need to make these fit well? I was thinking a 15mm spacers? but which ones? I want them to be hubcentric. Also where can I find hub rings for these?

No problem, I think they worked out good. They're good and flush.

I have a version of DYRL on DVD that will work on our DVD players. I can't get to it until I get off the boat in three weeks, but if you want me to make you a copy no problem, just PM me. I think we've had this thread long enough.
