*Looking for pictures to illustrate once and for all which FD wheel is the one guys are running for track setups. I would like to see a picture of the back of the face because it is rather impossible to see the difference in barrel design with tires on the wheels. Thanks.
ok so im picking up a set of FD RX7 wheels so I can run the Hoosier QTP's this summer....I need 20mm spacers for the front inorder to clear the brembos...Touge Factory has some Ichiba's but they are bolt on and I am feeling like I need a stronger ARP stud and you cant change out the stud as they are pressed in?....any suggestions because I have never dealt with this issue before....any other brands anyone recommends....I would rather do a slip on and longer studs .....

You will be fine with the bolt-on spacers. I had them for a full season of autox, and never had a problem. Torque everything and you will be problem free!

I don't think the ichibas fit with them, one of my friend ordered 20mm for the rx-7 wheels and they didn't clear the calipers. Let me point him to this thread

from what i ve seen you have to use the wheels that have the marking #50 in order to clear the calipers. They are CLOSE but they clear no problem...

thanks for the heads up guys! I was thinking of a 15mm and 5mm slip on with the arp extended studs but now I have to see if these wheels are the #50's......thank you!

Whatever version FD wheels I have, they didn't clear with just the Ichiba 20mm spacers. You need 21mm to clear. With 20, they just barely scrape the outside of the calipers. We spaced it one more milimeter and it worked fine. Ran 126 MPH in the 1/4 without a problem.
Both versions are 16x8. However, Mazda changed the design because there were complains about the wheels design being weak and cracking under stress. The earlier models were 13.X pounds. While the 2nd version is redesigned and stronger, it also weighted about 2lbs heavier. If you look behind the wheel, the back of the faces look slightly different. Also, the design of the wheel barrel is also different, and only one version fits over the Brembos on the Evo.
Okay, finally have pics to show what I've been talking about in countless threads about this topic... I hope this clears up some confusion for people trying to fit these wheels.
