Any reason for wanting such a wide tire? Typically you're better off going narrower than OEM sizing so you can dig down thru the snow.
I've only driven Blizzaks and Green Diamonds on my Evo. Green Diamonds were better in the dry (less squirmy feel), but didn't compare to the Blizzaks once on the slippery stuff. Hankook Ice Bears are somewhere inbetween.

You'd be much better off going back to a 17" wheel for the winter time. The tire selection is better and cheaper. 245 is very wide for actual snow and ice. I'm going to get 225/45/17 Hankook ipikes. At that size they're only $103 each. They're a near copy of a Nokian design that's twice the price.

From what I've read they give up quite a bit in dry road cornering performance but make up for it with exceptional deep snow and ice traction. That's what I'm after. If you drive around on plowed roads or clear highways you might like the Blizzaks or the Dunlop winter sport 3D's.

Always been a Blizzak fan myself. With the WS60 and awd you can pretty much cut through anything. Have them on my Audi and it's amazing what you can get home in.

I sold my 17's and all I have are my 18x9's that's why I need that size tire.
