Bilsteins are the way to go if your replacing struts--you are blowing the struts likely due to the struts bottoming out and destroying themsleves- the cause are springs that are too low or too soft causing the struts to bottom out and beat their guts. Keep yourself from the compulsion to "slam" your car for the "look" and the problem goes away. I hear the spec r's would solve the prob--but will let others chime-- in here.

i havent yet done the swift spring syet on the kybs i had those crappy tein springs in there that caused them to get warped out. But what i was wondering was if i get the kybs revalved tot he swift spec r springs will it be a good ride for a little until i can afford the tein flew coilover system or when the bilstein struts come in. Please any insight would be great !! i heard good things about the kyb wit the swift setup

any insight on what route id take to rebuilding the kyb struts to be valved for the swifts spec r ?

As I said in our PM - you CANNOT rebuild the KYBs. Only the Bilsteins.

Swifts on a good set of KYBs or Bilsteins (MR or HD) will work great.

Not the best idea to mix the KYB's with lowering springs either. +1 on Bilsteins.

KYBs, in good shape, have been used time in and out. I do not agree with Neal here.

+1.
When I ordered my set of Robispec springs I asked him these same questions. He agreed the KYBs will be fine with his springs.

if you look at the Spec-R SPECs they are designed to work with the stock suspension components. There are two different versions, get the GSR version for the KYBs and the MR version for billsteins..

Im sure if you search the FS section there are people selling their stock suspension with low miles....

The only difference between the GSR and MR is the initial rear spring rate. The front rates are the same.
